Timestream Pavilion
Type: Concept Study
Pavilion design based on an important episode from Chicago’s past - the explosion of population that occured between 1850 and 1900.
The Open Pavilion expresses in a gist this timeline, portraying a transition that took place in Chicago: from a city of a few inhabitants to several million. Such growth is expressed by the Pavilion itself, which, through a gentle rotation conveys growth, from a few elements to several million. The pavilion is in fact, a snapshot of time, the energy of cosmic rotation (time) captured in an explosion of light.
